“Keep a Level Head and an Open Heart”
“At this time the very ground under your feet is shifting,” the Grandmothers said. “Things you thought you would never witness, you are now witnessing. People who you felt you could always count on, sometimes disappear. And surprises seem to pop up everywhere, but not all of these surprises are happy ones.
“Shocking changes, relentless changes,” the Grandmothers said. “This shifting, this changing is undeniable, and though it may not be what you planned and hoped for, it is what is what’s happening now. And you?” they asked, boring their eyes into mine, “you are here now. You are present at this radical time and your presence is no accident.
“You are needed,” they said. “A steadying presence, an open heart, a person who can be counted on is of inestimable value at a time like this. A person with her/his feet on the ground. You are such a person.
“We, the Great Council of the Grandmothers, ask you to now do whatever lies before you, waiting to be done. Do the needful thing, the next thing. Help! Lift! Comfort! Feed! Rest! Do the simple things, do the heart-expanding things that need doing now. You are here for this,” they said, “and we tell you that there is nothing greater than this.
“Wherever you find yourself, anchor the Net of Light in that place. Strengthen and affirm the omnipresence of this loving, lighted Fabric of Being that supports life. Choose peace over anger, choose kindness over hate. Let love flow outward from you in a natural way, and always, before you act, ask, ‘Is it loving?’ Is what I’m doing, what I’m saying, what I’m thinking loving?’ Make it a habit to ask yourself this.
